Flag State Inspections (FSI) or Annual Safety Inspections (ASI)

have the purpose of ensuring vessels are keeping satisfactory standards on board, in compliance with the regulations of the state of the flag that they fly.
Flag State Inspections include verification of statutory documentation, compliance with all applicable regulations, and a general examination of the vessel’s structure, machinery and equipment, operational testing of fire fighting equipment, life saving appliances and safety equipment. They usually include the performance and assessment of a safety drill.

During Flag State inspections, ISM/ISPS and MLC audits, as well as statutory certificates endorsements can be performed.

 

WE AR AUTHORISED INSPECTOR

DOECL are authorised inspectors for the following Flag Administration, NIMASA (Nigeria Flag Administration, Panama Maritime Authority, Bahamas Maritime Authority, Liberia Flag, Marshall Islands Flag Administration for ships, drillships, Jackup rigs, FSU and FPSO.
We are also authorised inspectors for for the following Flag Administration, NIMASA (Nigeria Flag Administration, Panama Maritime Authority, Bahamas Maritime Authority, Liberia Flag, Marshall islands.

Flag State uses Annual Safety Inspections (ASI) to ensure that satisfactory standards are maintained on board vessels flying their flag.
Flag State Inspections are carried out by approved Flag State Inspectors and include verification of statutory documentation and a general examination of the vessel’s structure, machinery and equipment as well as a more thorough inspection and/or operational testing of firefighting equipment, lifesaving appliances …
The inspections normally include verification of compliance with applicable rules and regulations, e.g. Marine Notices, Flag State Administration circulars, SOLAS, WHO and ILO conventions.
